Blink, the book of Malcolm Gladwell, is finally translated into Dutch. In Dutch the title is Intuitie (Intuition) which I think is not the best translation they could have chosen. I had three versions of the book at home: the English, the Dutch and the audio CD's. Not because I'm such a fan and want to have everything published by Gladwell, but the Dutch one was sent to me for review and the CD's came with that book for extra (I bought the English one myself, beginning of this year). When I started the English version, at the time of buying, I didn't have the concentration to read on for a longer time. So, I often forgot what was the point of the example. Now, being "forced" to read the book in a short time, it was much easier to finish (and it was not only a language issue). I found that I liked the book very much, which I didn't expect at first. It's a very pleasant read and gives food for thought. All those examples, stories in fact, were facinating. I wouldn't call it a management book, for that I miss concrete guidelines what to do next. But it's good to be aware that we often make snap decisions, based on a first impression (which could be a wrong impression).
I find it far more difficult to concentrate on the audio CD's. However pleasant the voice of Gladwell, I prefer books.
