I know, you must be a little crazy spending your holidays on bike, fighting mountains and the wind in Scotland. I think I need my work now to recover... But we've seen so much, talked with mandy nice people and ate a lot of scones, carrot cake and (new for me) flapjacks.
On the picture you can see what I look like after surviving a long climb, with 20% in the end. No, I didn't step off from my bike (no option: pushing it is perhaps even heavier). After that, I thought I could manage everything! Another heavy part (though not the steepness of the hill) was however to come on Shetland. The wind! We arrived in a storm on Shetland (rock & roll on the boot). But even after the storm the wind was heavy and Shetland has no shelter, no trees at all. The whole day, wind. Next time I think it's better to rent a car. Cycling on Shetland is for the real crazy people.
So now I'm back, but tomorrow on the road again (or better: in the air), to attend the ECKM'05 conference in Limerick. I know Gabriela is there as well, she has a presentation, and maybe more bloggers. Of course I'll try to describe the conference the coming time!
This may be of interest - blogs & bikes!
