Most runners don't like dogs. I like them, but most of the times not when I'm running. The dog is often not to blame, but his boss, who doesn't lace him and didn't train him (enough).
However, some dogs seem to like us very much and follow us a long way. We need to bring them back to the owner, I don't think my cat will be happy if we bring a dog home. It once happened to my boyfriend, who at that time was training for ultra-races (marathon+). At a farm a small Jack Russel joined him and after a round of three hours he brought back "Jack", who was still not tired.
Yesterday we had a nice experience in a German forest. We passed a family with a Teckel and three puppies. They were so small, we had to be careful not to step on them! One puppy decided to follow us, can you imagine with flapping ear, so cute. We picked him up and a girl took him over. "Du LΓΌmmel", she said (in German), which was funny because the word didn't seem to apply to the small animal. (Lummel is something like (big) lump).
